Presence: Reacquainting with the Rockies
It’s funny how most of my bikepacking trips come to life. They usually start with a lazy afternoon staring at the computer and thinking about my next photography project. Before long, I somehow end up opening Ride with GPS and tracing a new route I want to explore on two wheels.
After my Tour Divide plans fell through due to the pandemic, I began searching for the “next big thing” I could put my energy, fitness, and creativity into. As a freelance photographer, I decided I wanted to create a route that showcased the beauty of Colorado and provided challenging and engaging riding. Nothing seemed better than a fall tour across the state where I first discovered my passions for photography and endurance sports. And although I’m no stranger to solo bikepacking, I wanted to share the experience with someone who also chose Colorado as their home. My friend Adam was the obvious choice.
